Virginia Paving’s Alexandria, Chantilly, Norfolk plants Earn EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Certification for Superior Energy Efficiency; Outperforms similar U.S. Plants on measure of energy efficiency
On June 30th of this year, Alexandria, Chantilly, Norfolk plants, owned/managed by Virginia Paving, earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR certification, which signifies that the industrial plants performed in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency and meets strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA.
“This certification is more than a label — it’s helping us recognize our teams for the effort they made to increase operational and energy efficiency,” said Juli Simons, Sustainability Manager for VINCI Construction USA (Virginia Paving’s parent company. “We can’t wait to celebrate and share this achievement with everyone.“
Earning ENERGY STAR certification highlights these plants status within the top 25 percent of asphalt mix plants in the nation with regard to energy performance. Virginia Paving improved its energy performance by managing energy strategically across the entire organization and by making cost-effective improvements to its plant.

ENERGY STAR was introduced by EPA in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce emissions through energy efficiency. To date, tens of thousands of buildings and plants across all fifty states have earned the ENERGY STAR.
